Luca Benedetto
Hi there! I work at the intersection of Natural Language Processing and AI for Education as Maître de conférence at Télécom SudParis, a member school of IP Paris, and visiting researcher at the University of Cambridge.
Before joining IP Paris, I was a Research Associate at at the Cambridge ALTA Institute (within the NLIP and LHI groups), worked as a Data Scientist in Cloud Academy (now acquired by QA Ltd), and obtained my PhD from Politecnico di Milano, supervised by Prof. Paolo Cremonesi.
Research interest
My research is centered on Natural Language Processing and AI for Education; specifically, I focus on AI Fairness and Safety, computational psychometrics, and the automated generation and evaluation of learning and assessment content.

- Our paper Simulating Student Interactions for Virtual Pretesting with In-Context Learning has been accepted at LREC 2026.
- I’ve been awarded an Imminent Research Grant by Translated to work on improving the efficiency of machine translation systems with LLM psychometrics.
- Our paper Beyond Names: How Grammatical Gender Markers Bias LLM-based Educational Recommendations has been accepted for publication at the EACL 2026 Main conference.
